The book prize jury selected from all entries <strong>Prof Dr Lukas Hafferts<\/strong> Book <strong>\"City, country, frustration - a political survey.\"<\/strong> (C. H. Beck, 2022) for the prize \"Das politikwissenschaftliche Buch\" for the year 2024.<\/p><p>The book \"Stadt, Land, Frust - eine politische Vermessung\" by Lukas Haffert examines the recent urban-rural conflict as a result of a shift in the political coordinate system in Germany.<\/p><p>The jury's assessment reads: \"Haffert uses the group affiliation of people via their identity to the city or country to precisely show the conflict between these two dimensions. In addition, the urban-rural conflict is characterised in a special way by the capital. He sheds light on historical references dating back to the German Empire, draws parallels with international debates, particularly in the USA, and links them with current issues in Germany. With a clear thesis and well-founded statistical evidence, he argues that the urban-rural conflict not only represents the revival of an old line of conflict, but is also being recast in terms of identity politics. This has far-reaching consequences for social cohesion and political dynamics.\"<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8897d81
